Letter to the Board

In reading the bylaws it looks like the BOD is not following the procedures as outlined in the bylaws for making changes. The intent of Article 9 (below) is to inform and allow the membership enough time to consider and comment on the proposed changes.  I suggest that the vote be delayed until the procedures have been followed. While we are discussing changes it would be useful to members to know why the changes are needed—so in addition to just publishing the proposed changes, some background should be included so the members can make an informed judgement.

ARTICLE 9 BYLAW AMENDMENTS
9.1. These Bylaws may be changed by amendment. The proposed amendment shall be read at a regular meeting, published and disseminated to all members, and shall be voted upon at the next regular Club meeting. The proposed amendment shall be ratified by a simple majority vote of the members present at said meeting. Absentee members shall submit their vote, to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, in writing prior to the meeting at which the vote is to be taken.
