SEFSD Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
Quorum at 6:48 PM, meeting convened.
In-person participants: Steve N., Brad, Steve M., Quan, Eric, Carl, Nick
Online participants: Jovi, Steve B.
Not present: Nick
Meeting held Steve N.’s home.
GENERAL DISCUSSIONS:
Brad: 1/2 way to 50/50 raffle goal of $2,500 for banquet.
No chairs lost during the triathlon event this year.
Jovi: Raffle nearly ready for web presence.
Rotorplex cleanup rescheduled for June 11.
Filmed a few more scenes for banquet movie.
There are lingering concerns with pilots piercing 200’ altitude limit.
July 4th raffle drawn on July 1st. (add to bottom of notes)
Steve N.: Nothing new.
Steve M.: Bank account remains adequately funded.
Membership at 274 currently.
Gift certificates for remainder of year have been repurchased.
Porta Potty monthly charges dropped after minor provocation.
Steve B.: Followed up on requests for website updates.
Larry K.: The centerline is the go/no-go southern limit for flybys.
Nick: Not in attendance.
Eric: Web calendar needs updating for UCSD event on Sunday the 16th of June
Carl: Nothing new.
Quan: Preparing website to accept raffle tickets online.
ITEMS REQUIRING A VOTE:
Another sound machine has been requested and approved for purchase.
Jovi to devote the remaining agreed upon monies towards the raffles.
ITEMS OF CONTINUING INTEREST:
Field condition remains good, though unlikely lately, but please stay off the field when it’s rain soaked.
Park Master Plan to continue being addressed. We are discussing how best to preserve this site into the future.
Droneplex maintenance to spruce up area remains forefront of mind.
WEEKEND FIELD EVENTS:
T28 racing at 10:00 AM Saturday 5/13/23 (weather forecast lloks good).
Electroglide at 10:00 AM Saturday 5/20/2023 (weather forecast looks good).
Dead Stick Challenge at 10:00 AM Saturday 5/27/2023 (weather date too far out).
UCSD Engineering Dept. will be using field on Friday June 16th.
Organized field events will now include 50/50 raffles to help fund club banquets and other events. The organized events include Electroglide, T-28 racing, Bomb Drop, Don’t Spill the Beans, etc.
Next BOD meeting 6/14/2023 @ 6:30 PM.

GENERAL DISCUSSIONS:
Brad: Additional money donation for banquet given to treasurer.
50/50 donations for banquet already up to $1,675.
July 4th holiday food truck on Saturday July 1 since actual holiday rests on Tuesday.
Club devoting $600 to food truck, food can be purchased if you are late.
Jovi: This is the weekend for Rotoplex cleaning on Sunday.
Steve N.: T-28 racing this Saturday.
No major safety concerns to be addressed.
Steve M.: Bank account remains adequately funded.
Membership 283 at currently.
Steve B.: Not present tonight.
Larry K.: Handling food truck details for the July 4th holiday.
Nick: Not present.
Eric: Nothing new.
Carl: Nothing new.
Quan: Finished website raffle ticket sales page.
Started sign graphics for central pole sign.
ITEMS REQUIRING A VOTE:
Tri-tip lunch during July holiday approved for $800 with majority of “ayes.”
ITEMS OF CONTINUING INTEREST:
Safety issues are everybody’s concern. If you see something then say something. Be kind and be civil.
