With three key Board positions now vacant your Board took action at last week’s Board of Directors meeting to address this situation. In accordance with Article 4.2 of our Bylaws the remaining Board members accepted my offer to act as Chairman until the next President completes their term. I have been a long time member of SEFSD and have served (and hope to continue to serve) as Treasurer since 1998. Although I do not get to our Sea World field very often those of you who attend our General Meetings will have met me. I was also fortunate to be able to be the Event Director for last year’s Electric World championships at AMA head quarters in Muncie and have recently become an enthusiastic Indoor Flier.
The Board also discussed candidates for the other open Board positions and the mechanics of electing a new President and Vice President in accordance with Article 4.3 and 6.6 of our Bylaws. The Board offers the following as their proposed candidates (in accordance with Article 6.2 of our Bylaws). Steve Neu as President, Tim Attaway as Vice-President and Frank Gagliardi (to replace Steve Neu) as the third Member at Large on the Board. I am sure none of the Board’s nominees need any introduction from me as they are all well know and respected, very experienced fliers, well connected with the hobby and the AMA and FAI.
As always we will hold elections at our next General Meeting (Tuesday 22nd at Miramar College starting at 7:00pm). Please email me: michaelwneale@earhtlink.net if you would like to stand as a candidate for any of these positions (or just turn up to the meeting). You can also email me any vote you would like to make for the candidates or again just come to the meeting and vote. In fact why don’t you come to the meeting anyway and hear what I am sure will be an interesting presentation from Hitec.
Note: The meeting room has changed we will now meet in J232 on the second floor of the classroom block.
I am not sure how long I will remain Chairman but whilst I am in the position I will welcome any feedback on how the club operates and what your Board could do to make your membership of one of (if not the) best Electric R/C clubs around a more enjoyable experience.
Fly Safe!
Michael.
