Let’s get straight to the point here. My top priority this month is to get our runway reconditioned to a state where planes can take off and land without breaking their nose gears or flipping. While the board continues to explore long-term solutions, like a Geotextile fabric, in the short-term, we are going to do what we know works- wet the field, and roll it. I hope to have the equipment on site within the next 1 – 2 weeks to get this done. Thanks to all those who went to the winter banquet this year at the 94th Aero Squadron. It looks like everyone had a great time, and I enjoyed chatting with everyone at the dinner table. I know the food took a bit long to come out. However, the alternative would have been buffet style, and we would have to get in line to be served, then walk back to our tables. I think the little extra wait was worth the convenience of having the food brought to us. Plus it seemed like people didn’t mind the extra time to chat it up.
We had a great pool of prizes this year, and I was lucky enough to win the twin jet A-10 warthog. For those curious about how the raffle was conducted, the process is entirely computerized from the moment you purchased your ticket online, to the names being printed, cut, and put in the raffle bin. The only part that involved human interaction was when the winners were drawn.
See you guys at the field!
