322 and counting………………………That’s the number of members to date. Why the growth? Well, for one, the hard work done by members of the club to make the SEFSD a premier electric flying site. Another is the overall good attitude of the membership towards guests and potential members. Are we perfect? Not by a long shot, but NO CLUB IS…………….As the club grows, so does the complexity of keeping as many members happy as possible. Again, do succeed? Not always………………But we continue to try….
A genuine “Thank You” to those who attended the meeting on the 23rd at Padre Gold. Much was discussed and much accomplished. To begin, we the SEFSD will participate in the National Model Aviation Day event on Aug. 17th. We hope to invite Wounded Warriors in the San Diego area to a day at the field complete with FPV flights for guests, Mentor Trainers, food (Courtesy of Chef Attaway) and for this event we will be asking all members to donate $10 towards the Wounded Warrior Program and the club will match the total collected up to $1000. As a career Marine who has seen the horrors of war, this is REALLY close to my heart!….
Soon you will see a new and improved fence at the field. Chief Griffin has agreed to help with this much needed project.
The Heli Day at the Bay was discussed and the date is set for Oct 11-13 Friday thru Sunday. Saturday and Sunday are Rotor Craft Only……No fixed wing birds………….
A discussion regarding the indoor flying venue has prompted me to poll the membership as to the viability of continuing.
